Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/18/2023

Number: 1

One lone monarch trying to feed on a dandelion bud. No other flowers around anymore. It's been blustery, cold (40's and low 50's), and rainy for 2 weeks but today it was partly sunny and 60 degrees. I was so surprised to see a butterfly... any butterfly. I felt bad that this lone and beleaguered Monarch won't make it all the way to Mexico, but it's going to try until it dies. More rain and cold tonight. I tried to take a pic to submit, but it flew away, probably still hungry. Darn!
