Raised raised and released 532 monarchs. Eggs and larva were collected in a 35 mile radius of Waverly, IL. All were raised on Asclepias syriaca outside on a screened in porch in mesh cages.

527 were released at my home outside of Waverly. 6 were in chrysalis when departed for vacation to the Gulf Coast. 5 eclosed while on vacation. I have already reported all these as Captive-Reared.

1 was still in chrysalis when time to go home I so removed the silk mat from the mesh cage, wrapped it around a branch of a shrub, and used straight pins to secure it. It was still in place when we departed. I did not count this chrysalis as Captive-Reared.
