Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/23/2023

Number: 1

What I still think is a sub adult Rufous is still here 7 a.m. It always first arrives in purple gurantica to perch. Then it nectars before 8 a.m. I can see it has white tail tips with an orange wash on sides so could be a female. When they are this young it takes almost all winter to get their breeding colors to determine male or female. The diving at cardinals at feeders does determine the attitude of a Rufous. And I saw the orange on its sides yesterday when it did that. This one could have been here quite a while and I didn't realize a Rufous.

Rubythroats don't ever stay this long for me to see.
