Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 10/23/2023

Number: 1

Just when you think you have seen your last hummingbird for the season. I first saw this Ruby throated hummingbird at 7:45 a.m. central time the temperature was 43F. It was sipping nectar from the black and bloom Salvia. I could not get a clear photo until he perched on the spent day lily. It looks cold it’s feathers are fluffed out trying to keep warm.
