Sightings report image

Date: 10/24/2023

Number: 1

Got a photo of what I'm positive of a sub adult agressive Rufous sitting on desert willow tree twig yestetday after I made a report. It came in again 7:15 a.m. to perch in purple gurantica. Saw it's tail spread of orange feathers thru field glasses.

It likes to chase the male Cardinal out of river birch tree about 6 inches away behind Cardinal's tail. Cardinals are intimidated and cautious coming to feeders.
Rufous doesn't seem to mind me sitting out while it nectars from flowers early morning. Today we have cold wind gust from tropical disturbance coming in over Texas from Mexico.
