Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/17/2023

Number: 3

While preparing to begin a #PapalotlProject presentation at Norma D. Martin Fairway Park last week about the fall season, migrations and life cycle of monarch butterflies, it was observed that the #MiramarCommunityGarden appears to have only one milkweed plant. This one plant was hosting at least three monarch larvae. We will work on growing and donating more milkweed for the community garden over the winter so the returning monarchs will find suitable habitats to place their eggs this spring.
