A sunny and warm windy day after a heavy rain the day before. Wind out of the south at 15-20 mph. Monarchs on bedding zinnias, California zinnias and Mexican sunflowers.
They were accompanied by unusual numbers of other butterflies, including gulf fritillaries, painted ladies, pipevine swallowtail, clouded Sulphur, cloudless sulfur, silverspot, and lots of skippers. Unusually busy.
