Never in a million years would I have thought that I would have a hummingbird sighting every day of October in Minnesota. Had a pretty beleaguered juvenile male ruby-throat hummer waiting for me to put the feeders out this morning. After he nectared a few times he looked much better. The last time I saw him was early afternoon coming to a feeder. I watched pretty closely from 5:15 - 6:15 p.m. but did not see the RTHB come to a feeder. That's unusual. So either he found insects somewhere or he picked up the north wind and finally headed south. I have a heated nectar feeder out now in case he's still here tomorrow. Fair winds for the little guy!
