Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Well, the Fall 2023 hummingbird migration was an amazing run for us. Good news, from all appearances our last ruby-throat (juvenile male) left St Paul Minnesota yesterday. Our latest sighting ever. I have had no hummer sightings since around noon yesterday. I feel confident he latched on to the north wind and continued his journey south. I'm glad he finally started using our nectar feeders after the flowers froze. I'm sure it made the difference. I'm sure there are more stragglers out there so if you have heated feeders or warm enough temperatures please keep your feeders out a couple more weeks. I finally gave our little guy a name today, Spunky. He was certainly that. The attached picture is from earlier this summer. I like to end with a fun picture.
So this is my last report for the year. Go hummers!
