Robin

Date: 10/24/2023

Number: 1

This autumn I have had at least one male Robin using my bird bath which I refilled daily for his benefit and partaking of the Juniper and Dogwood berries in my yard up until today. This male Robin was very approachable during my daily garden walks. He had been regularly taking a bath in the evening twilight. I knew it was going down to freezing overnight for the first time this autumn on the 23rd and I was worried that he would be cold with wet feathers overnight in the freezing temperatures. I thought for sure he would be gone that day but he came for one more bath on the 24th at twilight which was a decidedly warmer day. I haven’t seen him since. I hope to see him next year.
This is the latest that I have ever had Robins in my yard. Maybe all those years of “gardening for Nature” has paid off.

High temperature on the 23rd was 12.9°C with a low of -.3°C. Temperature on the 24th was a high of 24.5° with a low of 7.3°C.
