Sightings report image

Date: 11/17/2023

Number: 1

This beautiful male monarch was born this morning and released at 2:30pm. It was sunny, 75 degrees F, 58% humidity, with light breezes blowing. He is getting some warm sun on his wings before flying to the nearby trees. He was brought inside as a 5th instar caterpillar on 11/1/23 and formed a chrysalis on 11/4/23.

We have been seeing a lot of queen butterflies and gulf fritillaries (and their larvae), as well as honey bees, bumblebees, and dragonflies.
