McKinney, Texas - I discovered a crystallis about a week ago hanging from edge of a large flowerpot and nearby to a partially depleted milkweed in my garden. Noticed this morning a change in crystallis color and the monarch emerged mid-day (70 degrees temp). It looked healthy and took about an hour to flap its wings in the sunshine and gather its energy before flying away.
