Milkweed Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 12/03/2023

Open milkweed butterfly garden consisting of 30 mature plants and two different species. The majority of plants are Tropical milkweed and two Giant Milkweed. During the first season, the monarch larva completely consumed all plants, yet all plants recovered without issue and have thrived.
This second season has likely brought double the monarch larva. The Giant Milkweed appears to be an excellent food source, as its foliage is much larger and provides amazing cover. It is also resistant to damage from milkweed Beatles.
