Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 12/05/2023

Number: 2

We had two monarchs emerge yesterday. These butterflies were from several eggs laid on tropical milkweed in our front flower beds in early September. The caterpillars ate for a much longer time and were bigger than most of the earlier ones. Seven of the caterpillars formed chrysalises in November. The monarchs that just emerged had been in the chrysalis form for at least a month. We have two more that we are still watching.
