Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)

Date: 12/07/2023

Number: 0

I've been maintaining 3 hummingbird feeders. When changing them out every 3 days, I've noticed that one has been significantly lower in volume than the other 2. Interestingly, the location of this feeder is where our overwintering male Rufous, Raphy, preferred to nectar last year. The location of this feeder isn't the easiest to monitor visually and requires me to actively sit and watch from a window of a room that we rarely use. While I haven't spotted the little fellow or any other hummingbirds since late October, it does make me wonder.

Our temps have been up and down here. While we have had several stretches of sub freezing temps at night (lowest so far was 19 degrees), overall, it has been a relatively mild late Fall thus far. Temps during the daytime have predominantly been in the 50s. I'll keep the feeders going and keep my eyes peeled. :)
