The male Rufous got mad at sparrows coming into his purple salvia twig. I sighted him on top of maple tree twig doing his lookout at 7:45 this morning. He's also kinda skinny, but does go to feeder briefly for 20 minutes off and on after morning salvias nectaring.

I did see a flash of something before daylight fly off from kitchen window feeder area. But it's not the current Rufous here who is very territorial or missed new comer.

Irony is, this Rufous hid out until the Broad-billed hummingbird left.
