Monarch female that looked like one had released earlier in week on 12/03/2023. Had found the caterpillar on a milkweed and decided to see if would become a butterfly. Actually got to see it make the crysalis. Fascinating as had never been fortunate enough to see it happen. On emerging noticed She was larger than Monarch butterfly released during our summertime. Watering the plants Friday butterfly fluttered around me and landed on our milkweed in front of me. Stayed a minute then fluttered away. Usually all that is here this time of year are Sulphur, fritillary and skippers. So maybe was one I released.
