Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 01/03/2024

Number: 1

We have lots of caterpillars and chrysalis in our cages and have released hundreds last year. We have a giant milkweed in the yard as well as tropical milkweed (organic) to help us keep up with feeding them. Native milkweed has been very difficult to grow here. We have had wasp stings and deformed caterpillars and butterflies and we put them out of their misery (freezing). We’ve been told by the native nazis we’re doing more harm than good but with the loss of habitat and massive spraying of chemicals we believe and hope our efforts are helping to mitigate this massive assault on the monarch population.
