Young male Rufous nectaring from am inground 'Rokin' deep purple salvia that made it thru last summer's heat/drought.
He chased what could have been another Rufous hummingbird yesterday away from Hamelias budding by koi pond. I thought it was the male here checking that plant out then there was a chase out thru patio. Haven't seen other one today and kitchen feeder level last week did drop. This current Rufous doesn't go to kitchen feeder at all. Stays at his post twig all day in backyard. On alert to watch more often.
