I started growing swamp milkweed this year in a low spot on my property. I only had about ten plants. Half of them reached maturity and I saved the seeds. Some friends with a young child and I successfully raised a monarch in a container and released it on Nov 5, 2023. I decided to nurture that one since two larvae apparently didn't reach maturity earlier in the year. One may have been eaten and the other one crawled away and I never saw what happened to it. It was released in another area on the west side of Savannah. It immediately flew to a flower.
