We had been seeing individual Monarch butterflies throughout Fall into Winter, later than any previous years. (We were still seeing hatching chrysalises into October, weeks later than usual.) On 1/1/24 we found 2 Monarch caterpillars on cut-back native milkweed plants. One since died, the other is close to J size.
