This immature male black-chinned hummingbird was our first hummingbird since 1 December 2023, when I saw one briefly outside our dining room window but could only see its silhouette. I protected the hanging baskets hanging from the fascia on 3 sides of my house with a curtain of agricultural fabric held in place with hook-and-loop fasteners and plastic clamps, and soon after I opened the fabric curtain on 17 January, this fellow began nectaring on 18 January from the protected Big Momma Turk's Cap which is as tall as our 2-storey house and extends halfway across the back of it. This photo was taken 21 January 2024 when it sat on a feeder. It may still be present.
