Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 02/24/2024

Number: 1

She was too far away to get a photo, but there was a FEMALE Robin in the part of our yard which gets more sun and has melted the snow. I've NEVER seen a female this early, with the earliest males arriving the 2nd-3rd week of March and females following a week or more later when the males have established their territory. She was foraging around in the leaves and finding something to eat but no worms because the soil is still too cold for them to head to the upper layer. I have a feeling this year is going to be very unusual.
