Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/02/2024

Number: 1

Seems too early to have a migration monarch in this area, but it was a female monarch laying eggs nevertheless; believe she may have overwintered here in the outskirts of Houston at the nearby, Mercer Botanical Gardens. I had very few butterflies last year that I suspect was attributed to all the deforestation and clear cutting for developments; the gardens and parks are their only safe havens now (and my backyard!)
