Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/10/2024

Number: 30

Today was the first day I found monarch eggs on the milkweed (Asclepias viridis). It was not hard to do, since I watched two females laying eggs in the early afternoon. I later checked on the milkweed plants I had seen them visit and also a few other milkweeds in other areas. I found 30+ eggs, mostly laid singly on each plant, with a few having 2 or 3 eggs. This was a quick looking, not checking all milkweed, more of which is continuing to emerge each day.
