Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/15/2024

Number: 1

I saw a female monarch in my front garden. She was flitting about from plant to plant, so I wasn't able to get a photograph of her. After she flew away, I inspected my milkweed plants, I saw that she had laid an egg on a young zizotes milkweed in my front yard. I am beyond thrilled! I'll take a picture of the egg and submit it to Journey North separately.

Temperature was 76 degrees and sunny. The garden was wet after a thunderstorm early this morning that passed through Austin.
