Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/18/2024

Number: 0

All our overwintering
Rufoua have finally departed.
Our 1st adult male Rufous stayed December2023 -January 26th.

(We did see a fall migrating sub adult male Rufous come thru in August) that stayed 4 days chasing songbirds all over)

2nd sub adult 2024 overwintering male Rufous came right away within a week staying all of January thru first week of March.

Yesterday I saw the front house small high view feeder halfway empty. The not sure one sub adult male species that was only here 5 days must left last night or this morning.

We could see a female Rufous come thru with first adult male rubythroats. As that is what we used to only see in regards to Rufous migraters in past spring time.

It's really windy today and cold. This was a hard cold, rainy winter and spring 2023, 2024. I hope la Nina comes soon even though predicted hotter this summer.
