Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/14/2024

Number: 1

This was our first Austin sighting of a Monarch that we assumed was heading north from the sanctuaries in Mexico. It was feeding on blossoms of a Rusty Blackhaw tree at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center. We saw Antelope Horns Milkweed in the meadows at the center looking robust and just about to bloom.
