This is a follow-up photo to my Monarch Adult Sighted report of 03/15/24. The monarchs seen today often nectared from the blooming yellow thistles (Cirsium horridulum). These nectar-rich thistles are monarch favorites, as well as important nectar sources for other butterflies, beetles, and bees. This is one of the male monarchs taking a nectar break from patrolling the milkweed areas and chasing females.
