Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 03/19/2024

Number: 15

Today was a bright, sunny day in the low 60's, with chilly breezes. As I checked some of the milkweed, I had the happiness of finding several newborn monarch caterpillars. This little one is munching on his egg casing and a bit lower down can be seen a monarch egg that is near to hatching (seen by its darker inside & clear outside). I saw 15+ first instar larvae, with just checking some of the milkweed (Asclepias viridis).
