This is a follow-up photo to my 03/26/24 Monarch Adult Sighted report. This is a photo of one of the female monarchs that I saw today as she nectars from a yellow thistle (Circium horridulum). I had been watching her laying eggs on a few milkweed plants in our front yard, when she transitioned to nectaring from a nearby thistle. She was getting much needed hydration/nutrition and was a lovely sight in the late afternoon sunlight.
