This is a follow-up photo to my 04/02/2024 Monarch Adult Sighted report. This female monarch is about to lay her egg on this milkweed (Asclepias viridis). She has extremely faded wings with tattered edges. I followed her a bit and saw her seek out fresh milkweed plants such as this to lay her eggs on. She is an example of the endurance and determination of the long-lived generation. It is a blessing to have her here.
