There were many monarchs flying about all day, maybe up to 16 individuals like yesterday. I did not have the chance to check the definite numbers. The monarchs were nectaring, sunbathing, milkweed checking, and egg-laying, with males sailing about patrolling. It was a very windy day.
By chance at 5:15pm I saw this mated pair lift up from our side yard grass and fly to this tree. They only stayed for a few minutes, then flew again to another tree nearby.
