We have a first adult male rubythroat I saw finally at 7 a.m. Not bothered by my sitting on patio glider. Watched him nectaring from potted hybrid salvias: 'Blue Swede shoes, fuschia-'Amigo.' Then went to check above hanging basket coral Rusellia in photo. He did fly back into patio after I came in looking at 'Spanish'lavender not potted yet.
Yesterday around dusk 7 p.m. he was first sighted flying all around just looking at anything red. Even coral honeysuckle in kitchen window feeder area.
Just hovered at First nature feeder on patio at 7 a.m. viewing. I could see on him thru field glasses, up in desert willow tree twig pruning, itching . Just loaded with molting white wings. Looked like snow on him.
