Actually I think there were two but could only see one clearly enough to be certain that it was a monarch.

fwiw, the one I could clearly identify did not appear to be particularly faded. It was non-directionally flying in woods and field on OKC Water Utilities Trust property adjacent to neighborhood. 4:15 pm temp 90(!), light breeze.
