Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 04/16/2024

Number: 2

Went looking for black swallowtail caterpillars in my rue. Instead, found two big monarch caterpillars on a somewhat hidden pink swamp milkweed. This milkweed is originally from Florida seed, now, three years old and foliated in early March for the first time instead of later. A good bed of flowering aquatic milkweed nearby, it has not been touched. No butterfly seen .
