Notes:Observed one female monarch butterfly nectaring on Texas Thistle plant for approximately five minutes. Wild flowers currently blooming in Temple are Texas bluebonnet, tall Indian paintbrush, ticketed, pink evening primrose, Indian blanket, hedge parsley,thistle, and some others. Lots of hedge parsley is blooming where I saw this butterfly. Insect remained nectaring on the Texas thistle plant for the duration of this sighting and then flew away in an easterly direction.
