My husband and I were admiring the Pacific Ocean waves from the beach, at Russian Gulch State Beach, mid-afternoon, sunny and warm, a bit breezy, when suddenly, a beautiful Monarch butterfly flew from the ocean, and directly above us, so we had a clear sighting - and continued flying fast eastward!
