Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/26/2024

Number: 8

The barnies are back. A little late this year. There has been one here on and off during the warm weather since Apr, 12. But today was the first day that a bunch were going in and out of their favourite barn nesting site. We usually have 10 to 15 pairs nesting and some of them two broods. The tree swallows have been around since Apr. 1, but they too are taking their time selecting a nest box and getting going. Have seen a few martins but, again, they are behind average selecting nest boxes and getting going.
