8:50am 1st Red-breasted Grosbeak (male) at tray feeder filled with safflower seed. Temp 65, sunny, breezy SW wind. Return of summer birds 3-7 days earlier but following usual pattern. First orioles, then hummingbirds, house wrens, grosbeaks--still waiting for grey catbird.
