Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/29/2024

Number: 1

A female robin that is easy to identify because she has an unusually pronounced white eye ring has been coming to feed at my live mealworm dish for some weeks. Last week, she appeared with her breast feathers spread apart as though she’d been incubating eggs and she was always in a rush to eat and leave. There was a crow in the yard over the weekend that caused a ruckus from the robins in particular, and as of Monday the 29th, the female’s breast feathers are unruffled and she no longer seems to be in a hurry when she stops to eat. I fear the crow may have destroyed her nest.
