Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/09/2024

Number: 1

This is the latest I can recall of sighting my first Ruby-throated hummingbird in over a dozen years. It was a small male sighted at one of my four hanging nectar feeders at 9:35am during a light rain. Temperatures were 54 degrees, with wind gusting to occasional 15mph. Expected high might get to 64 degrees. Several various blooms for hummers to nectar on if they choose are currently in bloom in my 2-acre yard. Last year they were slow arriving as well. My usual arrival time for them has been May 2nd.
