Female monarch basking in late afternoon sun in my backyard. She looked “new,” no wing damage or fading. She fluttered past blooming wood poppies and wild geranium, but didn’t stay long after I spotted her so no photo. My swamp milkweed, butterfly weed and showy milkweed were a few inches high, haven’t checked them yet for eggs.
