Saw our first Eastern black swallowtail, and as I was watching that one, a monarch flew into our garden area, also our first. It stayed flying around for about 10 minutes before moving on. It didn't stop, so I couldn't determine whether it was male or female. It looked vibrant in color. The day was sunny and very warm, in the 80s.
