One egg on Common Milkweed in Hopkins Minnesota. Calm winds, 60 F. Nearby nectar sources for mama were potted Verbena, Cosmos, Bleeding Hearts, pansys and mums. This egg was on a top leaf of a solo stand out milkweed plant above hosta, and is 18 inches high. I have 20 Common and one swamp milkweed plant in a row, in Monarch Waystation #11040.
