Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/21/2024

Number: 4

The barn swallows are back. They have been migrating to our property at least since 2014. One breeding pair has completed its nest perched on an overhead light in the stable, and for the first time they have invited or allowed another pair to nest on another light. The second pair has taken a long while to figure out how to build a nest, so they may be first-timers.

We also have breeding violet-green and cliff swallows on the property.
