Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/05/2024

Number: 1

I would like to report sad news, which might be interesting for the future of hummingbirds. I had 3 hummers this spring in the middle of May - first 1 male then a female and then another female. The 2 females actually fed together for a couple of days and then the second one left. Now there was only 1 female left - she stayed for a couple of weeks and seems to have now also disappeared. I used to have at least 6 birds over the last couple of years. One even built her nest right on our deck and raised 2 young ones - and now - nothing. Sad and very upsetting. If anybody has the same experience please let everybody know
