This is a second photo of the monarch I saw around noon today.
The monarch was very beaten up. There were several places on the wings missing. I'd like to add another photo that seems to show a layer missing on the wing. When it flew to another area of the garden its flight was very irregular -kind of like when you limp. There was nothing smooth about the way its wings moved. Also, a bumblebee seemed to knock it over while the monarch was feeding.
As I mentioned, I would like to share another picture of its damaged wing.
