Property is located in a heavily wooded area, with a front yard of about 3 acres with 15 swamp milkweed plants in beds. Cinderella, soulmate and ice ballet milkweed planted. Plants were cut down to 6” in late February. They are now about 3 feet high with minimal buds so far. First noticed caterpillars on May 19. The property is not our primary residence so we did not see any butterflies. Caterpillars were about 1 inch in length, and we rescued 12 . About half are in chrysalis stage with rest close behind. We release them when adults.
