Monarch Egg Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 05/29/2024

Number: 37

a new patch of milkweed, I discovered, and was pleasantly surprised when the first 12 milkweed I looked at, each contained one or two eggs on the plant. I didn’t Keep track of plants as I was too busy finding eggs, but I’d say there was probably at least 40 to 50 plants in a 30’ x 30’ area. Last night in the 40s and the temperatures for the next two weeks look to be in the 50s and 60s for overnight lows, plenty of chances for rain as well so plenty of milkweed and pollinators available. This year definitely has the feel of 2018 when I could come out to most any milkweed patch and find eggs.
